January 30, 2007

I don’t think Daniel and Amber will be anything more than friends. Amber seems to be looking for a confidant, and he fits the bill. I could be wrong, but she’s looking for a guy who has something going for him, like money or power. Daniel may be a rock star’s son, but he’s not living like one.

It was really fun watching Jill and Kay interact with the guy who (little do they know) could be Jill’s son. When will Cane and Jill learn the truth? How long has Cane been working at the club? Small world, huh?

Victoria was right, re: Corbel. If you try to tell a girl what to do, she’ll do the opposite. (See Victoria’s marriage to Ryan for proof.) I think Brad is overreacting in this case, but I’m sure that all will be revealed soon. This whole storyline really bugs me because it seems so manufactured. I mean, Brad’s been on the show for so long (except for that break he took) and there was never any hint of his living a double-life. Suddenly, he’s running around killing Nazis on the moon. Well, ok, not the moon part, but you get the picture.

On that note: Corbel still uses SLIDES? I thought most colleges today have converted to computers with projectors. Someone needs to get him into the digital age so he doesn’t need someone to help him “sort his slides”…

That’s it for today. I hear there’s Sheila stuff tomorrow, so you can bet I’ll have some comments on THAT.

You said it, Paul

January 29, 2007

When Paul was dealing with Sheila today, and she was calling him a hero, he said, “I’m so sick of this.” Was that the character talking, or the actor? In any case, Paul, my sentiments exactly. Lauren went to “Let the bitch die” to getting her antibiotics so she could rot in her own cell. Would someone please do something that makes some sense in this storyline, or just end the darn thing. I hate this whole thing.

Oh, stupid, stupid Maggie. You should have stayed out of Paul’s business. It’s SOOO unethical. At least this means something might FINALLY happen in this gawd-awful plot.

Some random thoughts:

Lauren’s become Genoa City’s newest drug dealer, it seems.

I’m so glad that Colleen is played by Adrianne Leon, one of the few soap actresses who doesn’t look like a stick figure. I think she is one of the better-looking actresses in the soaps, period. It’s nice to see more women with real bods on television these days, and I hope it’s a trend.

On the Winters’ front, I totally agree that Michael has WAY too much going on to be an effective lawyer. I mean, he’s got a new baby at home, a depressed wife, a woman locked in a cage, and two people to defend who have murder charges dangling over their heads. My God! Oh, yea, and he’s got a creepy brother and fabulously crazy mother living nearby. Nice.
Is anyone else getting sick of the police double-entendres between Paul and Maggie. It’s getting old, IMHO.

I can’t help but like Jana…she’s a little crazy, but such fun!

I can’t wait for Fenn and Summer to get sent away to boarding school in Switzerland so they can age 20 years, come back, and get married. Ha!

It’s so cute that both Brad and Victor wore black leather jackets on their trip. It’s like they’re a real team!

That’s all for me for now. More tomorrow!

Cliffhanger Friday: Snoresville

January 26, 2007

Today’s episode was pretty dull for a Friday, ending with Lauren and Michael freaking out in Fenn’s nursery. If I were them, I would, too. Frankly, I am sick to death of this storyline. First of all, the old Paul would NEVER have done something like this! Why can’t they just leave her to rot? I mean, no one would know what the hell happened. Of course, that would make for a pretty pointless storyline…

I really liked the whole “Who Killed Carmen” thing, but where has it gone? It was getting so interesting, and now it’s pretty much fizzled out. They must be waiting for sweeps to pick it back up again.

As for “Cadrian”, the Colleen-Adrian thing, I just find the whole thing disturbing. I don’t know whether he’s a bad guy or not, but I hope not. We have enough murderers or would-be killers on the show already. Seeing as he said he was from Israel, and the word is that he’s working for some Israeli Intelligence Agency, my hope is that he’s on Colleen’s side, and she just doesn’t know it.

I’ll just leave you all with this “Cadrian” video from YouTube. Enjoy!

About a Blog

January 26, 2007

I created this blog as an outlet for my opinions about the new direction Y&R is taking. Sometimes it’s good, but most of the time, I’m tempted to turn the channel. I your comments about the show as well.

I can’t guarantee I’ll have a post every day, as this isn’t meant to be an episode update blog. For that, I have a number of sites listed in the right column where you can find out who-did-what-to-who today.

My first real reaction post will be later today, what I call “Cliffhanger Friday”. So far, the show is really bland today,  but there’s still 15 minutes left.
